The Spring Street Development and Neighborhood may be a secret, but not for long!
The 16 block, 36 acre development is centered around our light rail Spring Street Station. The master plan was unveiled by NBBJ, taking inspiration from the Pearl District in Portland Oregon. Including 5 apartment buildings, parks and open space with mid-block pedestrian passages and more!
Buildings will be staggered and oriented towards views of downtown Bellevue and our glorious Cascade Mountains.
Just one of the establishments opening is The future Brewpub, home to approximately 9,000 square feet of brewery and restaurant space, with an expansive outdoor beer garden with views overlooking the adjacent neighborhood park.
REI is moving its corporate headquarters from Kent to the Spring Street in Bellevue by 2020.
The Spring Street District also has its first big technology tenant: GIX, a Microsoft -supported project that the University of Washington is jointly establishing with Tsinghua University of China. Expect that more than 3,000 students will be studying at GIX.
A Bright Horizon’s childcare center is now open, with convenient access to pedestrian friendly transit.
